A Sydney Executor on a Hard Deadline.
Helena (not her real name) is a Sydney-based solicitor acting as executor for a deceased estate. The estate had three named beneficiaries, all relatives of the deceased, none of whom had been in contact with the family in years. Two had moved interstate. One was last known to be living overseas before returning to Australia.
The challenge wasn't legal. The challenge was logistical. A settlement deadline had been imposed by the probate timeline and Helena had nine days to formally notify all three beneficiaries before the next court filing.
The Challenge
Old Addresses, Closed Doors.
Helena had tried the obvious routes. Last known addresses on file with the deceased's family. Public registers. Two of the three beneficiaries returned dead ends. The mail bounced. Phone numbers disconnected.
She had previously used in-house paralegal time for beneficiary searches, but the timeline didn't allow it. She needed a skip-tracing investigator who could deliver verified current addresses in days, not weeks, and who would deliver the kind of documentation a court filing requires.
Estate locate work is where most of our skip-tracing capability comes into play. Solicitors and executors arrive with a hard timeline, stale data, and a need for documentation that holds up in court. That was exactly Helena's position.
The Investigation
Multi-Source Locate, Verified at Each Step.
Following an initial brief with Helena, Stirling Investigations commenced searches across proprietary database tools, electoral and ASIC records, and current public records. Each beneficiary was profiled separately so that overlapping family or workplace data didn't cross-contaminate the searches.
Within 24 hours, the first two addresses were confirmed and verified against secondary public-record sources. The third beneficiary had been overseas for several years. A workplace and business affiliation check located a current residential address in metropolitan Sydney, confirmed inside the 72-hour deadline.
Methodology. Stirling Investigations' skip-tracing operates within Australian privacy legislation and uses only publicly available and licensed-database information. Each located address is cross-verified against at least one independent source before being delivered.
A written locate report was delivered to Helena with each confirmed address, the verification sources used, and a brief methodology note for her file.
